After a hugely successful 30th anniversary LCL Bike Ride this year which saw a phenomenal 2750+ cyclists take to the streets of Liverpool, The Wirral and Chester, Pennine Events have announced that the event will be returning once again on July 7th 2024. Tickets for 2024 are on-sale now.
The Liverpool Chester Liverpool Bike Ride has become a firm fixture in the Merseyside events calendar, welcoming people of all ages and skill levels to challenge themselves while taking in the beautiful surroundings of the local regions and raising money for a good cause. The classic LCL route which gives the event its name is a 50-mile bike ride that passes through Liverpool City Centre, The Wirral and Chester. It is a wonderfully scenic route that will put riders to the test without overwhelming them with too many tricky obstacles.
However, for those who really want to challenge themselves there is an alternative 100-mile route which offers an additional 50-mile journey through Chester. There are also a number of easier 25-mile routes and a family-friendly 5-mile route. All routes that start in Liverpool also offer the unique opportunity to cycle through the famous Queensway Tunnel.
Children ride completely free with a paying adult which makes it the perfect active day out for families and is a great way to get kids involved in their first fundraising experience. The 2023 event saw LCL partner with 6 local charities, including NSPCC, Alder Hey and Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, ro raise nearly £90,000 to aid people in need in the local area.
Although all routes are manageable, training is advised so it is best to book your place early and begin planning some training cycles as soon as possible. Early-Bird tickets are now on-sale for LCL 2024 for a limited time only.
