The terms and conditions below apply to all entrants participating in the Liverpool Chester Liverpool Bike Ride as organised by MarkAlissa Ltd. By registering for the Liverpool Chester Liverpool bike ride you will be required to accept the terms and conditions on offer.
- Participants must acknowledge that this event is not a race.
- When cycling on the highway participants acknowledge this is potentially hazardous. Participants should be in a reasonable state of health and by registering they are confirming that they are in good health and are capable of completing the event.
- The event organisers cannot be held responsible for personal accident, injury, loss or damage occurred during the event.
- Any costs incurred as a result of participant rescue or injury are to be covered by the participant and not MarkAlissa Ltd.
- MarkAlissa Ltd do not accept responsibility for the actions of participants.
- Participants must wear the event number provided at all times during the event.
- Participants must follow the instruction of event staff, stewards and signage at all times.
- Event rules and regulations will be stated within the event information booklet as created by MarkAlissa Ltd – these must be followed at all times.
- All sales are final, refunds are not available. If a refund is processed at the discretion of MarkAlissa Ltd, a non-refundable booking fee will be subtracted.
- Participants can transfer between Liverpool Chester Liverpool routes. Additional costs may occur depending on route options.
- Participants cannot change the named rider once registered.
- Registration can only be completed by a person aged 18yrs or over.
- Participants taking part in the Challenge rides, must be 18yrs or over.
- Participants under the age of 18-years-old MUST be accompanied by a responsible person over the age of 18-years-old. MarkAlissa Ltd reserve the right to request photo identification and/or proof of age from participants at any point. Failure to comply may result in being withdrawn from the event.
- Each participant agrees to assign and grant the right and permission for MarkAlissa Ltd and the associated event partners (including charity partners) to use and publish any photographs, film, video and/or sound recordings of the participant on any MarkAlissa Ltd activity. The participant hereby releases MarkAlissa Ltd and their event partners from any and all liability from such use and promotion. The participant authorises the reproduction, sale, copyright, exhibit, and broadcast, electronic storage and/or distribution of said photographs, film, video tapes, electronic representations and/or sound recordings without limitation at the discretion of MarkAlissa Ltd. The participant specifically waives any right to any compensation they may have for appearing in any of the photographs, film, video and/or sound recordings of the participant at a MarkAlissa Ltd.
- Each participant agrees to assign and grant the right and permission for MarkAlissa Ltd and the associated event partners to use their name, contact details and route preference for fundraising or event operational and emergency processes. The participant hereby releases MarkAlissa Ltd and their event partners from any and all liability from such use and promotion. The participant authorises the use and sharing of this data without limitation at the discretion of MarkAlissa Ltd. The participant specifically waives any right to any compensation they may have.
- MarkAlissa Ltd reserve the right to postpone the event to an alternative date in the interests of public safety. All changes will be publicised through the event website, social media and via email. Participants will be transferred to the new event date.
- Participants accept the age entry criteria as detailed below and as such MarkAlissa Ltd do not accept responsibility for any persons that fall outside of the categories detailed.
- All participants must wear appropriate safety equipment when taking part. It is highly recommended that a helmet must be worn at all times when cycling.
- Participants must adhere to the rules of the event at all times.
- Participants must follow the Highway Code when on public roads and pathways. For open road events all traffic signals and road signs must be obeyed.
- Participants must be considerate to all other participants and non -participants at all times.
- For cycling, please ensure that you ride in single file and no more than two abreast where necessary.
- All route signage must be followed, any participant not following the route is therefore outside of the event and not the responsibility of the event organisers. MarkAlissa Ltd agree to ensure that all routes are adequately signed.
- MarkAlissa Ltd reserve the right to make changes and adjustments to any route at any point prior to the event day. All changes will be publicised through the event website and social media. Participants will not be entitled to a refund in this situation, instead should this be requested they will be offered the chance to change routes instead.
- MarkAlissa Ltd promises to do all in their power to ensure that all routes are of the advertised distance, although all route distances advertised are estimates.
- MarkAlissa Ltd are entitled to make adjustments to the routes on the event day in an emergency situation without giving prior notice to participants.
- Event organisers will close the event service areas and finish at a specified time, any participant who has not reached the service areas or returned to the event finish by this set time is no longer the responsibility of MarkAlissa Ltd. Participants do not need to inform event organisers if they are not participating or completing the event.
AGE RESTRICTIONS
- 5 Mile and 25 Mile Routes – Open to all ages. *Children aged 15 and under are free of charge on these route options (1 free child entry per paying adult). The child will also receive a t-shirt and medal.
- 50 Mile Chester Challenge & 100 Mile Routes – Over 18’s only.
- 50 Mile Liverpool Chester Liverpool – Open to all ages. However, under 18’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 or over.
- MarkAlissa Ltd reserve the right to request photo identification and/or proof of age from participants at any point. Failure to comply may result in being withdrawn from the event.
- All children aged 10-17 years old can ride independently when accompanied by a responsible adult.
- Age 9 years and under can take part on a tag-a-long bike or children’s bike trailer.
- It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian of the entrant to ensure that participants under the age of 18 years can complete the chosen route within the allocated time.
CODE OF CONDUCT
BELOW ARE THE EVENT TERMS & CONDITIONS WHICH ALL RIDERS TAKING PART IN THE EVENT MUST ABIDE BY AT ALL TIMES.
Rider safety is very important to us; we therefore ask that you follow these simple steps to ensure participants stay safe during the ride:
- It is highly recommended that you wear a helmet.
- Keep to the two inside lanes and do not cross the rumble strip whilst cycling through the Tunnel. The other lanes are used for emergency ‘Red Route’ and must be kept clear at all times.
- Be able to complete your chosen route by 15:45 for Liverpool returns or by 14:30 for Chester returns.
- Do not race or speed in the Tunnel or any other part of the routes
- Be aware of the Highway Code and obey it at all times
- Be considerate of the nature of an event on the highway. Adhere to the rules of the road, all road signals and signage including red traffic lights & crossings. Be aware of and obey any additional signage around the course.
- Follow the official route and direction signage at all times. There will be stewards ONLY at key points, so please keep a copy of the event control phone number given to you at registration.
- Be aware of others around you and do not take any sudden actions without warning.
- Be considerate of other cyclists, as riders will have a variety of abilities.
- Be aware of pedestrians, particularly at designated crossing points – be prepared to slow down and stop.
- Act responsibly at all times.
- Please do not ride more than two-abreast.
- Be aware that other riders or vehicles may overtake. Please keep left and ride in single file where possible.
- Be aware that there are technical aspects to the route, please slow down at these sections and be aware of others around you.
- Find a suitable place to stop and fix any bike problems. Mechanical support will be available should you be unable to repair your problem but please be patient if the mechanics are attending to another call.
- Wear your event number on your front until you have completed the ride.
- Do not drop litter, use bins provided in the start/finish area or service areas.
- Finally, the event is a ride not a race. Please watch your speed for your own safety and the safety of others.
- Slow down when approaching roundabouts and junctions and be prepared tao stop you must give way to other traffic in accordance with the Highway Code.
- Be considerate of other road users, in particular horse riders / other road users and pedestrians.
